Typography: More Wall Script

Is this a mini-trend in France? Or is it just the editors of one of my favorite magazines who have a soft spot for wall lettering?

Whatever it is, I found an absolute banquet of lettering in this month's Art & Decoration - they have an entire article on wall letters, and elsewhere they had another example of lettering carved into plaster.
Put this together with the last example I fell in love with, and it all seems like a very lucky time to love wall script in any form.

The carved-plaster effect was pretty subtle even in the actual photos, so these aren't going to quite capture it, but they'll give you an idea:

Not knowing plaster especially well, I do have to say that cleaning these walls (they are both in kitchens) could be a little iffy. A better way to do it might be through DIY wallpaper:

I like how the script doesn't add busyness to the wall, it's like a subtle surprise you'll only notice when you slow down. In a small space, busyness can feel like constant combat sometimes.

I think the backsplash of an outdoor shower would be beautiful with a script like this carved in.

Wow...Linda, this IS a find! I love the "pate a crepes" recipe in the kitchen! I haven't been following the wall-decal trend, so this site came as a great Monday surprise.

I had fun looking through their catalog of wall texts, I think you might be on to something! A decal has to be easier than carving plaster, I would think.

Thanks for the great link!
